Selfies

The last few years has seen the introduction of the 'selfie', an image of you taken by yourself. While the rise of social media has seen 'selfies' evolve into more than just a simple image taken of yourself, we at CoinCorner use them as a bit differently.

We use selfies as a form of identity verification, and there are a number of processes on our website that will require you to upload a selfie.

1. Uploading a selfie for the Verification process

Sometimes while completing our Account Verification process you will be required to upload a selfie to your account as well as your proof of identity and address documents. If uploading your selfie for this purpose we will require you to hold your proof of identity document and a handwritten note stating 'CoinCorner'.

2. Uploading a selfie to reset your Two-Factor Authentication

If you require your Google Authenticator to be disabled on your account we will ask for a selfie so we can verify that it is actually you who is requesting the reset. If uploading a selfie for this purpose we will require you to hold your proof of identity document and a handwritten note stating 'CoinCorner, please reset my 2FA' and the date.

3. Uploading a selfie to change your email address

Certain account details will require you to get in touch with our Support team to update, one of these is your registered email address. If you are uploading a selfie for this purpose we will require you to hold your proof of identity document and a handwritten note that states 'CoinCorner' and your new email address.

4. Uploading a selfie to change your mobile number

If you have completed the signup process you can update your mobile number on the Settings page of your account, however if you are yet to verify your mobile or email then you won't be able to progress to that page. If you need to change your mobile to complete the mobile verification step of the signup process we will require you to upload a selfie holding your proof of identity document and a handwritten note that states 'CoinCorner' and your new mobile number.
